FAQs
We require payment of a non-refundable deposit to secure event bookings at 28 York Place.
No booking is confirmed until a deposit has been received. Provisional bookings or holding event space is not offered.
Cancellation terms
a. More than 30 days notice: Deposit surrendered
b. 15-30 days notice: 25% of anticipated spend
c. 14 days notice or less: Event fully chargeable
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable in all circumstances. The organiser should ensure appropriate insurance exists in the event of cancellation.
The Nook: Up to 4 delegates
Urquhart Room: Boardroom max 12 delegates, theatre style up to 25 delegates
Milne Suite: Boardroom max 30 delegates, theatre style up to 80 delegates
Your event co-ordinator can explain the layouts available and options best suited to your meeting or conference.
Table water is provided.
Refreshments can be added onto all bookings.
The nearest parking facility is located at the St James Quarter, 0.1 mile (2 minutes).
28 York Place is ideally located for public transport. Edinburgh Bus Station is 2 minute walk away and Edinburgh Waverly Station is a 5-10 minute walk.
We are also on the Edinburgh Tram Route, directly between the Picardy Place and St Andrews Square spots.

28 York Place is an 18th century Georgian townhouse and we are located in a World Heritage site. As a result, we don’t have a lift and all our event spaces are accessed using stairs.
Bar28 is located on our main floor, accessed by 4 steps at our entrance.
Our Milne suite and meeting rooms are accessed by staircase only.
Yes, we have complimentary Wi-Fi through the building.
The Urquhart Room has a TV which can be used.
Projector and screen hire is available for use in the Milne Suite.
We use HDMI cables to connect to the projector. TV’s can be connected wirelessly or by HDMI.
Stationary is included in our day delegate package.
