Coffee Saints 

📍Little King Street

A vibrant, community-driven café serving delicious breakfasts, all-day brunch and lunch. With its bright yellow and green interiors, Coffee Saints is a fun, warm and welcoming spot.

More than just a café, Coffee Saints is a proud social enterprise supporting the Grassmarket Community Project, using great coffee, wholesome food and hospitality to bring people together.

Dishoom Edinburgh 

📍St Andrew Square

Dishoom pays homage to the Irani cafés and vibrant food culture of Bombay.

With bottomless chai, breakfast naan rolls that are to die for and lassis worth waking up for, a Dishoom brunch is a must. The menu is designed like a newspaper, with each dish feeling like its own headline. Look out for the humorous ‘Rules of Dishoom’ displayed throughout the restaurant, surrounded by old-world chandeliers, green pendant lights and cosy booths.

Walk-ins welcome, but booking is highly recommended.

Greenwoods 

📍Frederick street

Bright, stylish and always buzzing, Greenwoods serves traditional breakfasts alongside inventive brunch dishes with a Dutch twist.

Originally opened in Amsterdam in 1988, Greenwoods brought its much-loved brunch menu to Edinburgh, serving everything from salmon royale and pancake stacks to The Dutchman, a nod to its roots. Don’t miss their homemade drinks or the indulgent Banana Bread Tumble topped with coconut mascarpone, pineapple, raspberries, berry coulis and toasted coconut.

Papii

📍Hanover Street

An unfussy neighbourhood café serving delicious sweet and savoury breakfasts. From indulgent waffle towers and eggs Benedict to homemade sandwiches, freshly baked treats and excellent coffee, Papii has something for everyone.

Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, it’s worth arriving early—or embracing the wait and exploring Hanover Street while you queue.

Society Bar & Kitchen 

📍Waterloo Place

Framed by a beautiful arched doorway and two matching arched windows, complete with raised planters overflowing with greenery, this city-centre brunch spot is as inviting from the outside as it is within.

The menu covers everything from shakshuka and Green Goddess bowls to full Scottish breakfasts and steak baguettes. Whether you’re after something healthy or something hearty, there’s plenty to choose from. Pair it with one of their expertly made Bloody Marys for the perfect brunch.

The Pantry 

📍North West Circus Place

A much-loved Stockbridge brunch spot serving breakfast and all-day brunch made with local produce.

Inventive, delicious and always popular, The Pantry is known for its creative menu and cosy atmosphere. It’s often busy, with queues around the corner, but it’s well worth the wait. Grab a coffee, explore Stockbridge and enjoy the neighbourhood while you wait.

Urban Angel 

📍Hanover Street

Urban Angel has been a favourite in Edinburgh for over 20 years, and it’s still going strong.

Independent and committed to carefully sourced ingredients, it serves a brunch menu full of crowd-pleasers, from incredible French toast and classic eggs Benedict to breakfast rolls. With Australian café vibes, wooden tables, excellent coffee and a sunny courtyard, it’s a lovely spot to slow down.

The Edinburgh Larder

📍Blackfriars Street

Right in the centre of Edinburgh, The Edinburgh Larder celebrates the incredible produce Scotland has to offer.

Warm autumnal-orange wooden panelling, cosy booths and soft lighting dripping from the ceiling create a relaxed atmosphere where the food takes centre stage. Whether you’re after a full Scottish breakfast, kilted eggs, a bacon bap or sweet waffles, you won’t be disappointed.

Ardfern

Café, bar and bottle shop, Ardfern is open from early until late and well worth the visit.

The third venue from chef Roberta Hall-McCarron and the team behind The Little Chartroom and Eleanore, Ardfern offers a creative brunch menu alongside excellent drinks. Expect beautifully crafted dishes, from filled doughnuts and beef rump cap to full breakfasts and double smash burgers.

A little more on the expensive side, but perfect for a special brunch experience.

Margot

📍7-8 Barclay Terrace

With Margot written in beautiful white cursive across the window, a sage-green exterior and terracotta pots overflowing with plants, this café instantly draws you in.

The sister restaurant to Left Field Edinburgh, Margot serves an inventive brunch menu with standout dishes like Earl Grey French toast with blueberry compote and lemon curd. Their seasonal soft drinks and Turkish eggs with garlicky Greek yoghurt, burnt lemon, chilli and honey are also well worth trying.
